A report published by the Australian Centre of Excellence in Local Government (ACELG) last month, reported on the importance and dimensions of a successful relationship between a Mayor (or President) and CEO. The research finds that “having a sense of purpose, a clear and well?articulated vision, which is engaged via a facilitative leadership style, and roles well defined and negotiated will ensure local governments are at their very best in serving the communities they represent”.
